A Write to Heal, a nonprofit organization serving veterans, has received a $15,000 grant award from The Patriot Fund to expand its proprietary Veterans Drone Training Program.

The funds will be used to provide veterans with drone training, testing and licensing services at no cost through the Veterans Drone Training Program. Successful completion of the process enables veterans to obtain Part 107 Commercial Drone Licenses.  Heroic Episodes will employ the veteran drone pilots during production.

For Philadelphia resident, Air Force veteran Frank Sean Johnson, an amputee and participant in the program, training has been life-changing.

“A Write to Heal’s drone training program opened up opportunities I never thought were possible, “ Johnson said. “The process gave me confidence, purpose, and a new way forward. It may sound cliché, but thanks to this program, the sky truly is the limit for me.”
